A discounted mortgage rate offers you the benefit of monthly mortgage payments that are below the average or standard variable rate paid by the majority of borrowers. The discounted rate payable is not fixed and may go up or down with any fluctuation of the lenders standard variable rate (this would normally only fluctuate if their were changes in the Bank of England Base Rate).
